Welcome to my Gallery of Full-Auto Fun!!!!

Before we get started, let me remind you that all NFA rules apply here.   These pictures were taken at an outstanding shooting club facility in Oregon (I live in the PRK [Peoples Republic of Kalifornia], which is too uptight to let citizens have access to NFA weapons).   All of the individuals at this facility are federally licensed and fully compliant with NFA rules relating to civilian possession of select-fire weapons.  For those of you that don't know, this includes a $200 registration fee and a mountain of paperwork and red tape with the US Government.  This is in addition to the ENORMOUS cost of these firearms due to the artificial restrictions that have been enacted over who can have what and when.   A legal semi-auto Colt AR-15 that goes for ~$1,200 will cost upwards of $8,000 for a select-fire version!!!  Obviously, collecting and shooting NFA weapons is not for the light-of-heart or pocketbook.  My sincerest thanks to my good friend Mark Cook for giving me an opportunity to shoot these weapons twice a year in May and December.   Lookin' forward to the next trip!!!

December 13th, 1999 Winter shoot

Back from the Winter shoot!  For more info, go here.  You may wanna' grab a cup of coffee, since there's ~700kb of images (around 60 pictures at high compression).

2/16/00 Update

Video captures are now available on this page and on the Winter Shoot page.  Look for the   icon.  Enjoy!!  If demand warrants, I may capture a second series of the videos at a higher resolution and frame rate.  As it is they're 176 x 112 15fps .mpg's, so they're a wee bit lossy :)

A quick word about the quality of these captures.  These are not the greatest quality unfortunately, as they were done in a slightly roundabout way.   I'll get better screen caps and video captures at a later date to share with everyone.

May 2000

Somehow, I haven't gotten this one posted yet <confused grin>

December 2000

Just got back from the December 2000 shoot!  Man, what a hoot!  Some very special hardware was there!  Check it out!!!!

The pictures and video below are from my first trip in May of '99.

All told, I put ~500 rounds of 9mm through Mark's HK MP5.  SWEET!!   Very controllable and quite accurate at medium ranges.  Small wonder that the HK MP5 in all of it's variations is the preferred weapon of counter-terrorist forces and SWAT teams around the world.  The circles show brass in the air.  While not visible in this version of the picture, that upper one DOES show up before I adjusted the contrast and brightness of the screen cap.

This is what 500 rounds of 9mm looks like after firing :)  Notice the HK t-shirt I'm wearing as well.

DOH!!!  Little did I know that Mark's wife had taken all of the good magazines with her for a competion that was going to happen shortly after we filmed this bit.  Oh well.  Maybe next time.  All told I probably put ~300 rounds of .223 through her (yes, her :) M16 shorty while we were testing magazines to determine which were good for the competition.

You REALLY gotta' be bored to want to look at these two ;)

Shooting the jackhammer that is the HK21 :)  While a .308 like the US M60, the cyclic rate of the HK21, at least on this example, is MUCH higher.  I think this particular example times at around 1,100 - 1,200 rounds per minute.  The things BRUTAL on a bipod, which is why Mark usually has it on a tripod.  You can see the HK t-shirt again as well ;)

This is what a belt of .308 looks like after shooting.  Wheeee!!!!

Mark also has an HKG3, which I put about 200 rounds through, but I seem to have forgotten to get a capture of that....Oh well.  Next time I have access to some capture equipment I'll do that one too.

Oh BABY!!!!  One of the great things about these Club Event Shoots is that there are usually a couple of vendors (two in May '99, SEVEN in Dec '99!!) with rental guns to try out.  This is the absolutely incredible HK G36K.  I LOVE this gun!  HK outdid themselves (again) with this puppy.  I'm useing the lower of the two sights on the gun, which is a 3.5x optical sight.  Above that is a red dot site that uses ambient light, or batteries for night use.  For more info and a detailed writeup on this excellent weapons system, go to Remtek's G36 site at http://www.remtek.com/arms/hk/mil/g36/g36.htm.   Be sure to surf around the rest of their arms site as well.  There is an outstanding amount of info available.  Anyway, check out how controllable this weapon is.  That's five brass visible in the air, and this is mid-burst!  I definately look forward to shooting this weapon again if the chance arises.  Now if only TM would make this in an airsoft version....

If I smiled much more, my jaw would fall off =D

That's it for now.  Again, my sincerest thanks to my good friend Mark for inviting me up to Oregon to partake in the fun.  I'll post more screen caps as I can create them, and I'll post video clips when I can get my capture card up and running again.
