Jesus “Chuy” Gonzales Rodriguez de la Cruz

When asked about the length of his name, Chuy would say, ”My family was poor.  We couldn’t afford anything big or substantial. Names are free. So…(shrug)” Jesus de la Cruz is 5’9” and 167 lbs. is a native of Lanth in the Subsector of the same name.  A hoodlum during his youth, Chuy was initiated into his barrio’s gang, Las Piratas (He still wears the hat and matching earring.). After several brushes with law enforcement he was given an ultimatum: Join the military or go to jail.

The structure and discipline of navy life suited the young man.  Chuy excelled in his gunnery class and was picked for OCS.  The newly frocked Ensign was sent back to the fleet as a Gunnery Division Officer, where he honed his Comm and Sensor skills. LT de la Cruz was the “fair-haired boy” of his CO (who was slated to take over an Intel billet) and Jesus was brought along.  Intel school for Chuy was a breeze; it was merely doing what he did in Las Piratas, only legally!  After a few years of training in his home sector, de la Cruz went on three missions against the Zhodani Consulate. Two of these missions were rather successful.  LCDR de la Cruz is now looking to keep himself from pacing through the night and pick up extra credits (he does have a pension, after all).
