Kolsaegh Ulkhuto ( Pronounced: CALL-sytch Uhl-KHUU-ta ) Background Data File
Identifying marks: Several visible scars. Kolsaegh (Kol for short), is an Imperial Vargr born in a small Vargr ranching community on Menorb. The increasing tensions along the border with the Vargr extents gave rise to bigotry and prejudice among the local Colonial farmers that share Menorb. During a major incident incited by a human youth hate group, the ranch where Kol was born was attacked, with the teenage Vargr the only surviving member of his family. Burnt and bleeding, the Vargr youth fled into the surrounding countryside and managed to avoid capture by the pursuing attackers. Exhausted from the escape and heartbroken at the loss of his family, Kol vowed to seek his revenge on the criminals that had killed his family. After spending two months in the wilds of Menorb recuperating, the young Vargr started seeking his prey. The first order of business was contacting surviving friends of the family and cleaning himself up. Having borrowed money from the family, he went into the different wilderness of the small cities of Menorb to track down his enemies. Being a country Vargr, his initial attempts at tracking down the criminals failed, and let to an ambush from which he narrowly escaped after killing one of his attackers. Kol was again wounded, but not as severely. During the weeks he recuperated, he learned that the local law enforcement had not been able to prosecute those members of the group that they had managed to catch after the massacre due to legal technicalities. This only enraged young Kol even more. He went back to tracking down the offenders with a vengeance. He was finally able to track down the leader of the group, Ishai Museshi, and pursued the violent youth for three weeks across the face of the planet, and out into the wilderness. Neither Ishai or Kol could ever gain the advantage, until the night that Ishai fell into a ravine in the darkness, breaking both legs and one hand. With his whimpering and pleading prey at his feet, Kol knelt to give a killing blow, and realized that he couldn't do it. He couldn't kill the young punk in cold blood. He extracted a promise from the youth to provide testimony against the others of his gang in exchange for his life, to which Ishai agreed. Kol provided as much first aid as he could, then rigged a litter bring the youth back to civilization. Surprising law enforcement officers, the youth actually kept his promise, and warrants were sworn out on the other members of Ishai's old gang. Over the course of the following 3 1/2 months, Kol collected on all but 2 of the 17 warrants. His path in life was sealed, and he became a professional bounty hunter. With the money collected from the gang's bounties he paid back the family that had helped him after the massacre, then bought a ticket off of Menorb. Over the course of the following years, he plied his trade throughout the Regina subsector, making many contacts among law enforcement along the way. He also has served on a few merchant ships as a gunner for working passage, after getting a vargr gunner on a merchant vessel to train him when he was a paying passenger. With the outbreak of the Fifth Frontier War, he was forced to flee Rimward away from the invading Vargr Corsairs. During one leg of the flight the ship Kol was on was disabled and boarded by the Ankarkhu Corsair band. The bloody battle for the merchant ship raged for several hours before they were finally able to force the pirates to retreat. Without Kols help, and cache of arms in his cargo effects, the ship would likely have been lost. The Corsair crew swore a blood oath against Kol for fighting with the humans, and have come close to cornering him on a couple of seperate occaisions since. With the end of the Fifth Frontier War, Kol found himself on Efate after collecting on a skip-trace, and saw the advertisement for Starchaser. Having been the victim of three *attempted* muggings since arriving due to his race, he figured it might be nice to be protected by a corporate umbrella for awhile until human tempers calmed. Might be a nice rest as well...
