The Final Days of the I.M.V. Lucky Credit’s Ownership Under Abstata Dunkensheel

221-1104

Dr. Endthars Owen reluctantly leaves the vessel, headed for the microbiological research he was tempted to leave behind for an adventuring life in the stars. The eccentric Sir Trevor departs with his entourage of robots. The final cargo shipment is unloaded, and the ship’s interior is now strangely quiet.

223-1104

Yaine Webecen contacts Marc McHugh to notify him that Sir Trevor Ashley is not, and never was, a member of the Noble Peerage on Efate/Regina. The warning is passed among the remainder of the crew, including Ash, Fenris, Kat, Romli, Tog, and Benna. This core group was often found frequenting a local pub named simply, Sparky’s Pub. Those passing the large corner booth in the pub cannot help but notice a large and exotic bottle sitting above the seats on a corner shelf. Questions regarding the bottle are often met with amusement or hostility, depending on the shifting mood and level of intoxication of the spacers. A straight answer is never received. For those willing to ask the proprietor about the group, he just smiles. “Their bar tab is quite high”, he says with a whispered smile, “and was pre-paid by a nobleman.”

224-1104

Katherine “Kat” O’Malley leaves the hospital and joins the remaining crew from the Lucky Credit at Sparky’s. It is apparent to all that she and Ash have the makings of a beginning relationship. Romli Hamlin is offered (and accepts) a lucrative position with a local mercantile firm as second officer on another corporate (and much more professional) vessel. Father Ivan Petrokov drops in for a final shared meal and drink with the group at Sparky’s before heading out on assignment with his new mercenary unit.

226-1104

The Lucky Credit is listed for sale by Abstata Dunkensheel. The crew’s contracts are officially terminated, with a healthy severance bonus. Abstata swears never again to venture into space, (and he has not done so to this present day).

235-1104

The Lucky Credit is purchased by Starchaser LIC for an undisclosed amount.

238-1104

A courier delivers a bonus check to each member of the crew from the Lucky Credit, as the official approval for salvage rights on the derelict has been received by Abstata Dunkensheel.

239-1104

I.I.S.S. notification arrives for Ash to notify him that his scout courier is ready for detached duty release. The little ship already has a full crew ready and waiting, with the sole exception of Tog, who has managed to land an engineering position on a local refit and salvage team. An unusually loud party occurs at Sparky’s Pub that night.

245-1104

Corporate technicians begin the process of structural modifications to the merchant freighter. Sparky’s Pub grows quiet as the corner is no longer “reserved”, and the mysterious bottle is gone as well.
